Asante Kotoko unveil Johnson Owusu Oppong on a two-year deal

-

Asante Kotoko have officially completed the signing of experienced winger Johnson Owusu Oppong on a two-year contract.

The pacey and skillful wide man joins the Porcupine Warriors as part of the club’s preparations for a return to continental football, following a two-year absence from the CAF Confederation Cup.

Oppong brings a wealth of experience to the squad, having previously starred for Dreams FC, where he played a key role in the club’s historic run to the semi-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup.

His performances during the campaign earned him recognition as one of the standout players in the competition.

The 27-year-old has also enjoyed stints in Europe, including four seasons with Portuguese side C.S. Marítimo, a year with Czech club FC Zlín, and another campaign at Albanian outfit KF Kukësi.

In addition to Oppong, Kotoko have bolstered their squad with the signings of defender Francis Acquah from Bechem United and midfielder Hubert Gyau from Berekum Chelsea.

The triple signing forms part of Kotoko’s broader recruitment drive as they gear up for the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup campaign.
