Asante Kotoko to feature in 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup after FA Cup triumph

Asante Kotoko will fly Ghana’s flag in the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup after clinching the MTN FA Cup title.

The Porcupine Warriors sealed their qualification for next season’s continental competition with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over lower-tier side Golden Kick FC in the final held at the University of Ghana Stadium on Sunday.

The win marks Kotoko’s 10th FA Cup triumph in their illustrious history.

Although the Kumasi-based giants have featured in CAF interclub tournaments in recent years, they have struggled to leave a lasting mark.

This time, however, there is renewed optimism as the current squad combines experienced heads with emerging talents.

Kotoko’s management and technical team are now expected to strengthen the squad during the upcoming transfer window, with a focus on boosting their competitiveness on the continental stage.

As Ghanaian football aims to reclaim its status in African club competitions, Kotoko’s campaign in the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup could be instrumental in restoring the country’s standing.
