Asante Kotoko return home after winning Toyota Cup in South Africa

Asante Kotoko have returned to Ghana following their successful outing at the 2025 Toyota Cup in South Africa.

The Porcupine Warriors edged South African Premier Soccer League side Kaizer Chiefs 3-2 on penalties after a goalless draw in regulation time at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Saturday, July 26, to lift the trophy.

Led by team manager Nana Apinkrah Akwasi Awuah, the squad arrived at the Kotoka International Airport in Accra on Sunday night.

The players are expected to be granted a short break before regrouping for the upcoming 2025 GHALCA Top 6 tournament, which is scheduled to run from August 20 to 24 at the Baba Yara Stadium.

The tournament forms a crucial part of Kotoko’s preparations ahead of the 2025/26 Ghana football season and their campaign in the CAF Confederation Cup.
