Former Black Stars assistant coach Maxwell Konadu has called on Asante Kotoko to exercise patience in appointing a new head coach, emphasizing the need for someone with the right character to manage pressure effectively.
The Porcupine Warriors have been without a permanent coach since Karim Zito resigned, leaving assistant coach Prince Yaw Owusu in charge on an interim basis until the end of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.
Konadu stressed that the club should prioritize finding the right fit rather than rushing the process.
“It is about who will fit the bill. Kotoko and Hearts of Oak, you need coaches with character to handle the pressure and their fanbase,” the former Kotoko coach said, as reported by 3Sports.
“It is all about being patient and making sure you go for the right one,” he explained.
In administrative developments, Asante Kotoko unveiled a new three-member board of directors on Friday, February 27.
Mr James Osei Brown was appointed Chairman, Mr Kwasi Osei Ofori as Vice Chairman, and Mr Kofi Amoa-Abban, founder and CEO of Rigworld Group, joined the board.
On the pitch, Kotoko will host Vision FC on Sunday at the Baba Yara Stadium in their Matchday 24 clash.
