Asante Kotoko forward Albert Amoah has downplayed concerns over the club’s title ambitions, insisting the Porcupine Warriors remain firmly in contention for the Ghana Premier League crown despite recent challenges.
Kotoko currently sit fifth on the league table with 35 points, eight behind leaders Medeama SC. The Kumasi-based side have faced a difficult run, including consecutive defeats to Heart of Lions and Aduana FC in the FA Cup.
Speaking on Akoma FM, Amoah highlighted the number of remaining matches as a reason for optimism.
“As you can see, there are still 13 matches to play, so it’s not over. What I’m saying is that our supporters should continue to believe in us and stand by us through both the tough times and the good times. I truly believe that everything is going to be alright,” Amoah said.
The striker emphasized the importance of fan support, describing it as a key motivator for the team.
“I believe it’s our performance that matters, and our supporters should continue to believe in us. They shouldn’t give up on us, and they should come out in their numbers to support the team. Honestly, without them, it feels like we aren’t playing for anyone,” he added.
Kotoko now focus on a high-stakes Super Clash against arch-rivals Hearts of Oak, scheduled for Matchday 22 at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday.
