Communications Director of Asante Kotoko, Sarfo Duku, has expressed confidence in the club’s ability to overcome Moroccan giants Wydad Athletic Club in the next stage of the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup.
The Porcupine Warriors secured their place in the second round after edging Nigerian side Kwara United 5-3 on aggregate, following a thrilling 4-3 victory in Accra and a hard-fought 1-0 win away in Abeokuta.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports Show after the team’s return to Ghana, Duku insisted Kotoko are not intimidated by the prospect of facing Wydad.
“We have history against Wydad Athletic Club,” he said. “We have played against them twice and were just unlucky. For me, this year is a revival for Asante Kotoko, and I am confident we can overcome WAC.”
The first-leg encounter is scheduled for 17–19 October, with the return leg set for 24–26 October.
Meanwhile, Kotoko will turn their attention to the Ghana Premier League, hosting Heart of Lions in their Matchday 4 fixture at the Baba Yara Stadium.
