Asante Kotoko appoint Hamza Obeng as assistant coach

-

Asante Kotoko have confirmed the appointment of Hamza Obeng as the club’s new assistant coach ahead of the 2025/26 Ghana football season.

Obeng, a former assistant coach at Hearts of Oak, has signed a two-year contract with the Porcupine Warriors.

In addition to his role with the senior team, he will also serve as head coach of the club’s youth side, the Young Porcupine Warriors.

“We are pleased to announce the appointment of Hamza Obeng Mohammed as assistant coach for the senior team and head coach for the Young Porcupines for two years,” a club statement said.

Obeng joins Kotoko from Vision FC, where he recently guided the team to promotion to the Ghana Premier League.

He is widely recognised for his achievements with Hearts of Oak, where he worked alongside Samuel Boadu to secure a domestic double—winning both the Ghana Premier League and the MTN FA Cup.

Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko are finalising preparations for the MTN FA Cup final, where they will face Golden Kick this Sunday at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.
