Asante Kotoko striker Albert Amoah has shared insights into his developing partnership with fellow forward Kwame Opoku, following his match-winning performance in the FA Cup semifinals.
Amoah was the hero on Sunday, scoring the only goal in Kotoko’s 1-0 victory over Berekum Chelsea, which secured their place in the FA Cup final against Golden Kick. The in-form attacker connected with a precise cross from Baba Yahaya, rising above the defense to head home his eighth goal of the season.
Speaking after the game, the former Great Olympics forward highlighted the growing understanding between him and Opoku up front.
“We’ve learned to play to our strengths,” Amoah said. “I always know where Kwame is positioned when we’re on the attack. It wasn’t like that at first—we didn’t connect well. But now, there’s a strong understanding between us.”
He added, “The coaches and even our fans have spoken to us about our partnership, and that’s really helped us improve how we play together.”
With the FA Cup final now on the horizon, Kotoko will shift their attention back to the Ghana Premier League, where they will face Dreams FC on Sunday in a Matchday 31 clash at the Tuba Astro Turf.
