Armwrestling : Glico insures Golden Arms,  NHIA, NPA, others support for Africa Championship

The Ghana National Armwrestling Team, the Golden Arms, have received a boost ahead of the Africa Armwrestling Championship, slated for Abuja, Nigeria, next week.

This is because organisations such as GLICO, NHIA, NPA, GCAA, OmniBSIC, and other prominent institutions have heeded the clarion call by the Ghana Armwrestling Federation, providing various forms of support to ensure the team is represented at the annual continental championship.

Glico Life Insurance has offered Travel Insurance to the contingent for both the Africa Armwrestling Championship in Abuja, Nigeria, and the World Armwrestling Championship in Albena, Bulgaria whilst The Hope Brand (THB) has also unveiled beautiful designed kits as the official wear for the Golden Arms, Ghana’s national armwrestling team, who are gearing up to make a strong impression at the Africa championship.

The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has continued the longstanding relationship with the Ghana Armwrestling Federation, providing support for the Championship and health insurance for the team.

The National Petroleum Authority (NPA), through its corporate social responsibility, has also come to the aid of the Golden Arm.

The Ghana Civil Aviation (GCAA), focused on using sports to provide a healthy lifestyle for its staff, also partnered to ensure the Golden Arms travel to conquer Africa.

The Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC), through its support for National Federations, has committed to Armwrestling’s participation in the continental championship.

The Ministry of Sports & Recreation (MoSR), role in the whole preparation is commendable. The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA), SIC Insurance Limited, and OmniBSIC have all contributed to the Golden Arms African campaign.

The Ghana Armwrestling Federation is grateful to the various organizations for the support. Also appreciative of the development support extended by the Ghana Police Service, Ghana Immigration Service, and the Ghana Prisons Service.

Their contribution will go a long way in helping the team prepare for the championship.

Though a tough competition awaits us, we’re optimistic that with this support, the Golden Arms will be able to overcome any challenges they may face during the competition.

The Africa Armwrestling Championship is a prestigious event that brings together top armwrestlers from across the continent. Ghana has a strong team that is determined to make a mark in the competition, having won the 2018 and 2023 editions.

They are encouraged to take on their opponents and emerge victorious.

“The Golden Arms have a rich history of excellence in armwrestling. Winning medals is in our DNA; hence, we are eager to continue this trend in the upcoming championship. We will bring glory to the nation,” Coach Husseini Akuetteh Addy said.

The championship is expected to be a thrilling event, with top athletes from across the continent competing for the top prize.

Ghana’s participation is highly anticipated, and the Golden Arms are expected to put up a strong fight. The team’s performance will be closely watched by fans and sponsors alike.
