Are we going to build a skyscraper? – Nana B questions Arthur Kennedy [Audio]

-

National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye, has responded to Dr. Arthur Kennedy’s concerns about the timing of the party’s presidential primaries.

Following the NPP’s announcement to hold its presidential primaries on January 31, 2026, Dr. Kennedy questioned the decision, asking, “Why pick it in early 2026 when you could wait till mid-2027 or late 2027?”

He argued that the party’s internal discourse had reached a boiling point, and selecting a flagbearer at this stage might be premature and potentially disastrous.

However, in an interview on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem, Nana B, who disagreed with Dr. Kennedy’s stance, described the move as a success for the party.

According to him, the NPP’s structures are already firmly in place, and it is misleading to liken the party to a building under construction.

“Are we going to build a house? The NPP structure is already there, so what are we going to build? Are we going to build a skyscraper?” he quizzed.

Nana B argued that 99% of the tensions and internal wrangling within the party stem from the presidential primaries.

“The comparison with a building is totally unacceptable because nobody has said after the presidential primaries, we will hold national, regional, constituency, and polling station elections. We only agreed on the presidential,” he stated.
