Some children of the late founder of the Kristo Asafo Mission, Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, have arrived at the funeral grounds in Gomoa Mpota in the Central Region ahead of the final funeral rites for the renowned inventor and religious leader.
The family members arrived separately at the venue, where thousands of mourners, church members, relatives, well-wishers and members of the public had already gathered to pay their last respects.
Their arrival was met with loud cheers and applause from mourners, who welcomed them warmly as they made their way into the funeral grounds.
The funeral is taking place despite ongoing legal proceedings over the funeral arrangements.
On Wednesday, the Accra High Court granted a 10-day interim injunction restraining former Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, Sarah Adwoa Safo, from proceeding with the funeral following a suit filed by some members of the Safo family.
However, funeral activities have continued at Gomoa Mpota, with a large turnout of sympathisers paying tribute to Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, whose contributions to religion, engineering, technology and industrialisation earned him national recognition.
Security personnel were present at the venue to maintain law and order as mourners continued to gather.
Apostle Kwadwo Safo, founder and leader of the Kristo Asafo Mission, died in 2025, leaving behind a lasting legacy in Ghana’s religious, technological and industrial sectors.
