Anyimaye M/A Primary headteacher appeals for gov’t support to fix classrooms

The Headteacher of Anyimaye M/A Primary School in the Asunafo North Municipality of the Ahafo Region, James Nuamah, has raised concerns over the deteriorating state of the school’s infrastructure and is calling on government and stakeholders to intervene.

Speaking to Adom News during the school’s maiden Speech and Prize Giving Day and Graduation ceremony, Mr. Nuamah noted that the current condition of the classrooms is negatively impacting effective teaching and learning.

He revealed that all the classroom doors and windows are broken, leaving pupils exposed to harsh weather conditions and distractions.

Additionally, Mr. Nuamah lamented the lack of ICT facilities at the school, stating that there is not a single computer available for digital literacy lessons, making it difficult to align with the current educational curriculum.

“The broken classroom structures and absence of ICT tools continue to hinder quality education delivery here,” he said.

Yaw Agye, Chairman of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), also praised the efforts of the headteacher, highlighting his commitment to improving the school since his appointment.

He urged the government to recognise Mr. Nuamah’s dedication and called on the community to support his vision of development.

“He has made us realise that we cannot wait on government alone. As a community, we must also contribute to building an ICT lab and improving the school’s infrastructure,” Mr. Agye said.

The appeal comes as the school works to mobilise resources locally to upgrade its facilities and ensure a conducive environment for learning.
