Antoine Semenyo kept his high-flying start at Manchester City going by scoring an all-important goal in their hard-fought win against Leeds United.

City were hosted at Elland Road on Saturday evening without lead striker Erling Haaland, who picked up a minor knock at the training ground.

With the home side dominating possession and with the looked like ending in a draw after the first half, Rayan Ait-Nouri combined with Rayan Cherki, receiving the one-two back, reaching the by line, he squares across the goalmouth for Antoine Semenyo to break the deadlock with a sliding finish.

After recess, both sides had a fair share of possession, but Manchester City maintained their composure to secure all three points with Semenyo’s goal, making the difference.

The win means Manchester City has cut down teh points gap to two with Arsenal set to host Chelsea on Sunday.

Frustrations boiled over at the final whistle for Leeds boss Daniel Farke, who was shown a red card after he charged over to the officials in an angry manner.

Since joining Manchester City in January, Semenyo has now scored 14 goals.

The Ghana international will hope to continue his impressive run of form when Manchester City host Nottingham Forest next weekend at the Etihad Stadium.
