Forward Antoine Semenyo has vowed that the Black Stars will proudly highlight Ghanaian culture at the 2026 World Cup.
The four-time African champions are set to make their fifth appearance at football’s premier tournament, which will be co-hosted by the USA, Canada, and Mexico. Ghana has been drawn into Group L alongside Panama, England, and Croatia.
In an interview with CBS Sports, the Manchester City attacker said, “We want to show our culture.”
Semenyo also shared how he plans to celebrate if he scores against England. “If I score for Ghana against England at the World Cup, I will probably dance with the whole team,” he revealed.
Ghana will kick off their campaign against Panama on June 17 in Toronto, before facing England in Boston. The group stage concludes with a clash against Croatia on June 27 in Philadelphia.
Having exited at the group stage in their previous two World Cup appearances—Brazil 2014 and Qatar 2022—the Black Stars are determined to make a stronger mark on football’s biggest stage in 2026.
