AFC Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola has offered a positive update on Antoine Semenyo’s fitness, suggesting the Ghanaian forward could return to action against Sunderland.
Semenyo sat out the Cherries’ 2-2 draw with West Ham United last weekend after rejoining the club with an injury sustained on international duty.
He had missed Ghana’s second friendly against South Korea, having picked up a knock in the earlier fixture against Japan.
Addressing the press on Friday, November 28, Iraola revealed that the winger has been eased back into training and may be ready for selection.
“We still have to train today, but he has been doing modified training with the team the previous days,” he said.
“If everything goes well today, I think he is going to be available for tomorrow, yes,” the Spanish coach added.
Semenyo has been one of Bournemouth’s standout performers this season, registering six goals and three assists in 11 Premier League appearances.
