Residents of Manhean and its adjoining communities have given the government a two-week ultimatum to fix their deplorable roads or they will embark on a demonstration to register their displeasure.
Speaking in an interview on Joy News, monitored by Adomonline.com, Secretary of the Coalition of Communities for the area, Nii Quartey, said the coalition and the youth will demonstrate, if the two-week ultimatum given elapses without the fixing of the roads.
“We need President Akufo-Addo to fix the roads in two weeks, otherwise we are going to sit and block the road and demonstrate until we see a contractor,” he said.
Mr Quartey said the road, which is less than 15 km, can be fixed in no time, hence the two weeks deadline.
He further revealed that the traditional authority in the area is unhappy with the government despite its numerous attempts to get the government to come fix the roads.
Residents of the area have vowed not to vote for any political party in the 2020 general election, should the roads continue to remain in their deplorable State.
