Amasaman–Nsawam bad roads: Drivers call off intended demo

Drivers under the Concerned Drivers Union have called off their planned demonstration scheduled for Saturday, July 12, 2025, over the poor condition of the Amasaman–Nsawam road.

The protest, originally intended to demand urgent government intervention on the long-neglected stretch, has been suspended following visible progress on rehabilitation works.

Speaking to Adom News, Chairman of the Concerned Drivers Association, William Osei, explained that the decision was influenced by ongoing grading works on sections of the road previously in deplorable condition.

He disclosed that during a recent meeting with the Minister for Roads and Highways, Kwame Governs Agbodza, the union was assured that the road would be graded and fully repaired within six weeks.

With work already underway, the union expressed optimism that the project will be completed as scheduled.

“We’re impressed with the progress so far and expect total completion in the coming days,” Osei stated.

Meanwhile, the National PRO of the Concerned Drivers Union used the opportunity to urge the government to urgently shift attention to the Kasoa–Winneba road, which he described as another critical stretch in poor condition and posing danger to commuters.
