A young man believed to be in his late 20s is in critical condition after he was allegedly tied to a pole and assaulted by residents of Gomoa Fetteh in the Central Region over the theft of a motorbike.
Eyewitnesses say the suspect was apprehended by some youth in the community shortly after the alleged theft. He was reportedly restrained to a pole and beaten by the residents, with the assault ongoing at the time of filing this report.
Sources at the scene say the crowd is highly agitated, raising fears that the suspect’s life could be in danger without immediate intervention.
Residents have appealed for swift police action to rescue the suspect and restore calm in the community.
