The Palms Convention Center was awash in white on Thursday, January 1, 2025, as patrons flocked to the second edition of Adom FM’s Strictly Highlife, filling the auditorium with elegance, dance, and unbridled joy.

From the very first note, smiles lit up faces and bodies moved in unison as fans sang along to their favourite highlife classics, creating an atmosphere that was both celebratory and deeply nostalgic. More than just entertainment, the event served as a heartfelt tribute to the roots of Ghanaian highlife music, effortlessly bridging generations of music lovers.

Setting the tone for the night, The Ark Band took patrons on a nostalgic journey. With their energetic performance and authentic sound, they kept the crowd on its feet from the very first beat, reminding everyone why highlife remains timeless.

Between live performances, the energy never waned, thanks to the masterful work of DJ Billy Ocean and Andy Dosty. The seasoned DJs became the heartbeat of the night, delivering seamless transitions, timeless highlife hits, and crowd-moving mixes that kept patrons engaged from the warm-up to the final moments.



One of the night’s standout moments came from legendary songstress Akosua Agyapong, whose powerful and electrifying performance set the Palms Convention Center ablaze, earning thunderous applause from an already ecstatic audience.

Veteran musician Samuel Owusu thrilled patrons with a high-energy performance that had the crowd on its feet from the start, while Adane Best’s appearance felt more like a heartfelt homecoming than a performance. His soulful Ga renditions were warmly received, earning admiration from the fully charged auditorium.


In recognition of their immense contributions to highlife music and enduring influence on generations of music lovers, Adom FM, under the Multimedia Group, honoured Akosua Agyapong, Adane Best, and Samuel Owusu with citations during the event.
