A former Nasara Coordinator for NPP-USA, Alhaji Ali Suraj, has officially declared his intention to contest for the position of National Nasara Coordinator of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

In a statement announcing his decision, Alhaji Suraj said his bid follows extensive consultations and calls from party members seeking renewed leadership within the Nasara wing.

“This decision has not been taken lightly. It comes after careful consideration and in response to calls for a renewed leadership rooted in the founding values and democratic ideals of the Nasara fraternity,” he stated.

He outlined a five-point “Vision 2028” agenda aimed at strengthening the wing ahead of the 2028 general elections. The policy pillars include administrative reforms, continuous engagement with Zongo and settler communities, vibrant resource mobilisation, values-driven leadership, and welfare-focused mobilisation for grassroots members.

Alhaji Suraj, who has previously served in the diaspora and on key party committees, expressed confidence that his experience will help reposition the Nasara wing as a permanent and influential structure within the party.
