The Member of Parliament for Akyem Oda, Alexander Akwasi Acquah, has donated hairdryers to support newly trained hairdressers in the Birim Central Municipality of the Eastern Region.

The presentation, made to the Ghana Beautician Association in Akyem Oda, forms part of efforts to empower young artisans with the tools needed to start their own businesses and become self-reliant.

The items, mainly hairdryers, will be distributed to members who have successfully completed their apprenticeship training.

The initiative is aimed at easing the transition from training to employment, particularly for young people who often face challenges in acquiring startup equipment.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Acquah noted that many skilled individuals are unable to begin work immediately after training due to a lack of essential tools. He said the intervention is intended to bridge that gap and support them in building sustainable livelihoods.

Beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the support, indicating that the equipment will enable them to begin their careers with confidence and improve their economic prospects.

Meanwhile, leadership of the Akyem Oda branch of the Ghana Beautician Association commended the MP for his continued support and responsiveness to the needs of its members.
