The Akwatia NPP Youth Movement has held a walk and candlelight vigil in honour of the late Member of Parliament (MP), Ernest Yaw Kumi.
The solemn ceremony took place on Monday, July 14, 2025—exactly one week after his passing.
Dubbed “Se Asa”, meaning “It is finished”, the event saw participants walk through the principal streets of Akwatia and Boadu in the Eastern Region, culminating in final prayers at the constituency party office.
The vigil drew a large gathering of youth, members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), and representatives from other political parties.
During the event, youth and political party leaders shared heartfelt memories of the late MP in interviews with Adom News, expressing their sorrow over his untimely death and the void his absence has created.
They described Ernest Yaw Kumi as a dedicated leader whose impact will be deeply missed.
