The sixth Akwasidae Festival in the United States was held on Sunday, August 30, at Bowie State University in Maryland, drawing traditional leaders, members of the royal family, dignitaries and Ghanaians living in the diaspora.
The colourful event offered the Ghanaian community an opportunity to reconnect with its ancestral heritage while promoting and preserving the customs, values and cultural identity of the Asante people.
The celebration featured a range of traditional activities, including rites, drumming, dancing and cultural performances, highlighting the rich heritage and enduring significance of Akwasidae in Asante culture.
