The Member of Parliament for Akrofuom, Joseph Azumah, has donated five motorbikes, laptops, a power plant, and financial support to the Akrofuom Education Directorate to boost teaching, learning, and administrative efficiency in the district.
The presentation, which also included a cash donation to support 20 outstanding BECE candidates now in SHS1, took place during a brief ceremony in Adansi Akrofuom.
Speaking to Adom News, Mr. Azumah emphasized that education remains the most reliable pathway to the district’s development. He explained that the motorbikes will assist supervisors in monitoring teaching activities across the district, the laptops will improve record-keeping and administrative work, and the power plant will serve as a backup during power outages.

Highlighting the importance of investing in young scholars, Mr. Azumah also provided financial support to the top 20 BECE performers to encourage academic excellence.
Acting District Director of Education and Deputy Director of Monitoring and Supervision, Charles Clifford Baah, expressed gratitude for the timely intervention. He noted that the donation addresses key challenges previously presented to the MP, particularly the need for motorbikes and laptops.
Baah revealed that supervisors previously spent GHS 300 on transportation for school visits, but the motorbikes will now make supervision more efficient and cost-effective. While acknowledging ongoing accommodation challenges for staff, he said the MP had assured the directorate of support.
Education officials believe the donation will significantly improve supervision and, ultimately, enhance teaching and learning outcomes across the district.
