Ajet-Nasam family donates to Kete-Krachi prison

In a heartwarming act of generosity, the Ajet-Nasam family has donated essential items to the Kete-Krachi Prison in the Oti Region to support inmates.

The donation included 20 bags of rice, 200 personal care items, cassava dough, corn dough, cooking oil, liquid soap, and skin ointment.

The initiative seeks to improve the living conditions of inmates and demonstrate compassion toward individuals often overlooked by society.

During the presentation, John Ajet-Nasam reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the prison and creating opportunities for reform and reintegration. Drawing on his experience within the judicial system, he stressed the importance of rehabilitation and integrated programmes for inmates nationwide.

He recalled how some former inmates established businesses after benefiting from the Justice for All Programme, while others reverted to crime due to lack of opportunities. He therefore urged individuals and corporate organisations to support prisons, noting that such acts reflect Christian duty and love.

Receiving the items, Chief Superintendent Emmanuel Nyatuame of Kete-Krachi Prison expressed gratitude, saying the donation comes at a crucial time when resources are limited.

“The items provided will go a long way in ensuring that our inmates have access to basic necessities, which is vital for their well-being,” he said.

He commended the Ajet-Nasam family’s long-standing tradition of community service and philanthropy, stressing that their gesture underscores a strong commitment to giving back. He also appealed for more donations, adding: “We encourage other families and organisations to consider contributing to our cause. Every little bit helps in making a difference in the lives of these individuals.”

The Ajet-Nasam family’s donation not only provides immediate relief but also serves as a reminder of the importance of compassion and community support.
