Some executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ahafo Region have vowed to resist any attempts by government workers to undermine the policies and initiatives of President John Dramani Mahama.
During a visit to the VRA/NEDCo office in Goaso to investigate persistent power outages, Ahafo Regional Youth Organiser, Masawudu Suleman, voiced strong concerns over what he described as unsatisfactory explanations from the station manager.
The manager had attributed the outages to trees falling on power lines, a claim Suleman dismissed as a deliberate attempt to tarnish the image of the government.
“We have worked hard to bring this government to power. We will not sit unconcerned for people within the system, especially those affiliated with the NPP, to sabotage the efforts of President Mahama,” he stated.
Regional Organiser Loaman Iddrisu Dauda backed Suleman’s remarks, alleging that certain NPP sympathizers still holding roles in state institutions were working to derail the government’s efforts.
“The excuse of falling trees causing outages, which has subjected the government to public criticism, is unacceptable. He must sit up and do the needful,” Mr Dauda said.
The NDC executives warned that any acts of sabotage would be met with swift action, as they remain committed to ensuring the success of President Mahama’s administration in the region.
