Municipal and District Chief Executives (MDCEs), along with Coordinating Directors in the Ahafo Region, have signed performance contract agreements with Regional Minister Charity Gardiner, aimed at fast-tracking development across the region.

The signing ceremony took place at the Regional Coordinating Council in Goaso. Speaking to Adom News, the District Chief Executive for Asutifi South and Dean of Ahafo MDCEs, Benjamin Assabil Donkor, said the agreements commit assemblies to delivering essential social services, developing critical infrastructure, and implementing policies and programs that promote inclusive growth and improve residents’ quality of life.

He noted that the Regional Minister has directed all MDCEs to prioritise development in every sector, stressing that there would be no justification for failing to deliver on their mandates.

Mr. Donkor added that a major focus for the assemblies this year will be the improvement of Internally Generated Funds (IGF), which he believes is key to boosting revenue and fast-tracking development projects.

“Greater attention to IGF mobilisation will significantly strengthen the financial capacity of the assemblies and help bring development closer to the people,” he said.
