The Chief Executive Officer of Agrihouse Foundation, Alberta Nana Akyaa Akosa, has expressed profound gratitude to the Minister of Food and Agriculture, Mr. Eric Opoku, for recognizing the foundation’s contributions to Ghana’s agricultural sector, describing the gesture as both overwhelming and motivating.
In an interview with Adom News Correspondent Odehyeba Owusu Job, Alberta Nana Akyaa Akosa revealed that for the past eight years, Agrihouse Foundation has played a key role in organizing activities for the National Farmers’ Day celebrations, often without formal recognition from successive governments.
She noted that the acknowledgment by the current administration, through the Minister, marks the first time their efforts have been officially appreciated at the national level.
“This recognition is overwhelming and encouraging. It shows that youth involvement in agriculture and agribusiness organization can yield meaningful outcomes when supported,” Alberta Nana Akyaa Akosa said.
The CEO assured that the recognition would inspire the foundation to work even harder in the coming years, pledging to expand its initiatives and deepen its commitment to promoting agriculture, youth participation, and innovation within the sector.
She further emphasized that with continued support and acknowledgment from stakeholders, Agrihouse Foundation will enhance its role in supporting farmers, agribusinesses, and national agricultural programs in the years ahead.
The recognition came during the 41st National Farmers’ Day celebration held in Ho under the theme: “Feed Ghana, Eat Ghana, Secure the Future”, when Minister Eric Opoku delivered his speech highlighting the contributions of key players in the sector.
