Adutwum donates GH¢200k to Ablekuma North NPP PC

New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, has donated GH¢200,000 to support Nana Akua Owusu Afriyie, the party’s parliamentary candidate in the upcoming Ablekuma North re-run elections.

The rerun, which covers 19 polling stations, follows the Electoral Commission’s decision to abandon an initial plan to collate results from three disputed polling stations.

Despite failing to secure a court injunction to halt the rerun, Nana Akua Owusu Afriyie remains in the race and has expressed confidence in her chances, insisting she already won the contest by defeating the NDC’s candidate.

According to Dr. Adutwum’s team, the donation is aimed at strengthening her campaign, particularly in light of the short notice given by the EC.

The team says the gesture is also intended to help ensure the NPP retains the seat, which has historically been one of the party’s strongholds.

Dr. Adutwum’s team confirmed the donation and extended their best wishes to the candidate as she heads into the crucial contest.
