Adom Trotro today made a stop at La Beach Road in Accra, where residents are appealing to government to provide a zebra crossing and a footbridge on the stretch to help reduce the increasing number of road accidents.

The residents say that although they are happy about the ongoing road expansion project, they are concerned about their safety, especially for school children, traders and pedestrians who cross the road daily.

According to them, the expanded road has led to speeding by drivers, making it very dangerous to cross.

Some residents told Adom TV’s Prince Owusu Asiedu that several people have already been knocked down, with some losing their lives.

They are, therefore, calling on the Ministry of Roads and Highways and the Ghana Highways Authority to urgently construct a footbridge and clearly marked zebra crossings along La Beach Road.
