After months out of the public eye, Countryman Songo made a surprise return; and he chose the Adom Nine Lessons & Carols for his first appearance.

The unexpected moment sent a wave of excitement through the National Theatre, as many in the audience could hardly believe what they were seeing.

The seasoned sports presenter appeared not for commentary, but to pay reverence to the birth of Christ.

As the curtains opened and revealed him on stage, Countryman switched effortlessly into his signature reggae style, while delivering a soulful rendition of Buju Banton’s Our Father in Zion.

The performance felt deeply personal and reverent, fitting perfectly into the spirit of the evening.

He then lifted the mood with Bob Marley’s One Love, using the classic tune to remind patrons of the importance of unity and togetherness during the festive season.

As one to hype his favorite tunes, Countryman Songo continued with Culture’s One Night and His Name Is King Selassie, keeping the reggae flow steady and engaging.

Just when the audience thought he was done, he added a nostalgic touch by paying tribute to Daddy Lumba, performing some of the highlife legend’s most cherished songs.

His surprise appearance left many convinced that he offered nothing short of value for money and a moment they would not forget in a hurry.
