Ntruboman Senior High School in the Oti Region has received a donation of over 1,000 library books from the African Library Project to replace outdated materials in its library facility.

The presentation followed a report by Adom News after the school made a clarion call for support to restock its library with up-to-date books.

Presenting the books to the school authorities, the CEO of Alms For All Foundation and African Library Project’s Regional Director for the Oti Region, Festus Okpora, underscored the importance of promoting literacy and education in the Region.

He commended Adom News for its dedication to supporting the African Library Project’s mission of creating school libraries for communities in need.

Touching on the impact of the Nkwanta South conflict, Mr. Okpora noted that when conflict and misunderstanding threaten the peace of communities, books become more than just learning materials—they become sources of light.

“They open the mind, sharpen understanding, and inspire compassion. Where there are books, minds expand. Where reading thrives, communities grow stronger and more united,” he said.

The Regional Director further explained that the donation of books to Ntruboman SHS was not just a kind gesture but a bold declaration of hope.

According to him, though the Oti Region and the Nkwanta South Municipality continue to face challenges, the books will serve as tools of transformation, empowering young people with the knowledge needed to build peace, find solutions, and rise above limitations.

He added that through reading, students can explore new worlds, discover possibilities, learn from the experiences of others, and become more thoughtful, tolerant, and forward-looking—the kind of leaders who solve problems with wisdom rather than conflict.

Mr. Okpora encouraged the students to make effective use of the resources and cultivate a love for reading and learning, emphasizing that these skills can broaden their horizons and create new opportunities.

Receiving the books on behalf of the school, the outgoing headmaster of Ntruboman SHS, Charles Nyame Kormisah, expressed profound gratitude for the generous donation, noting that the books would significantly enhance the students’ learning experience.

He highlighted the pivotal role of reading in education and urged students to take full advantage of the new books. Additionally, he appealed to other organizations to emulate the gesture by supporting the school with modern learning tools, especially in light of the increasingly digital nature of education.

In an interview with Adom News, the school librarian, Cliford Atabaso, expressed excitement about the donation and looked forward to helping students explore new subjects to expand their knowledge.

He also appealed to potential donors to consider contributing computers and accessories to further enhance teaching and learning at the school.
