Nigerian actress Anita Joseph has sparked concern on social media after sharing an emotional post that appeared to confirm reports that her five-year marriage to Michael Fisayo may have ended.
The news was first reported by SDK Blog, which claimed that the union had collapsed and alleged that the actress faced significant personal struggles during the marriage.
Sources close to the couple say Anita suffered two devastating pregnancy losses—a miscarriage and a stillbirth—during her time in the marriage.
The same sources also allege that domestic abuse was a recurring issue. Michael, despite his calm public persona, was said to have frequent anger outbursts reportedly fuelled by alcohol, smoking, and laughing gas. These episodes allegedly resulted in Anita being physically assaulted occasionally, with the actress often forgiving him afterward.
Reports further claim repeated infidelity, with friends reportedly urging Anita to leave the marriage long before now.
While Anita did not directly confirm the details circulating online, her Instagram post suggested the reports were not far from the truth.
In her message, she thanked those who had reached out with love and prayers, adding that although she is healing, she is not yet ready to tell her side of the story.
“And the Lord did not forsake me,” she wrote. “I want to thank everyone who has shown me love one way or the other. Mother Hen is doing well. I will tell my story when I deem fit. Shalom.”
