Accra Tourist Information Centre fire: No casualties recorded – GNFS

A major fire broke out at the Accra Tourist Information Centre in the early hours of Monday, prompting a swift response from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).

According to the GNFS, the incident was reported at exactly 1:02 a.m., with the first fire engine from the National Headquarters arriving on the scene just two minutes later.

Additional support was dispatched from fire stations at Flagstaff House, Circle, Accra City, and the Ministries, along with a Rapid Intervention Vehicle from the headquarters.

Firefighters battled the flames for more than two hours and managed to bring the situation under control by 3:32 a.m.

Despite the intensity of the blaze, no injuries were recorded. Fire personnel remained at the site for mop-up operations to extinguish residual hotspots and safeguard nearby properties.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown, and investigations are expected to commence shortly.
