The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board, Sammy Gyamfi, continues to receive praise from individuals and politicians for transforming the fortunes of the state agency.
The latest commendation comes from Kwame Baffoe, Bono Regional Chairman of the NPP, who acknowledged Gyamfi’s effective leadership despite their political differences.
On his Ohia TV show, primarily broadcast on social media, Abronye DC said, “Let the truth be said: Sammy Gyamfi deserves recognition for what he is doing at GoldBod. Turning around the fortunes of the Precious Minerals Marketing Company (PMMC) and making it attractive is commendable, despite our differences.”
According to Abronye DC, the Ghana Gold Board has successfully marketed its operations, attracting investors globally. “Today, the Ghana Gold Board has marketed itself so effectively that people worldwide are talking about it. Apart from the oil industry, gold is the second most sought-after investment product,” he noted.
Other prominent figures, including former Majority Leader Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu and finance and economics expert Senyo Hosi, have also expressed support for the Ghana Gold Board, highlighting its potential to boost the economy. Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu observed that the state-run agency, which has the exclusive right to buy and sell all artisanal small-scale mining gold through licensed buyers, has played a crucial role in driving positive economic indicators.
On Kumasi-based Lawson FM, during a review of the current state of the economy hosted by Kwame Tanko, the former NPP MP for Suame praised the government for reporting positive figures in economic management.
Under Sammy Gyamfi’s leadership, the Ghana Gold Board has garnered admiration from critics and attracted interest from other African countries, including Nigeria, Mozambique, and Kenya.
