New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Ablekuma North, Akua Afriyie, says she is determined to reclaim the seat in the upcoming election re-run, promising not to disappoint her supporters.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show, Madam Afriyie revealed overwhelming support from residents in all 19 electoral areas, including widows, who she says are standing firmly behind her.
“The best place to seek redress is in court and we did that, but the case was dismissed, so we have to continue with the re-run despite the party’s earlier stance,” she said.
She noted growing anger among constituents over attempts to unseat her, adding that their encouragement pushed her to stay in the race.
“I am a native of the constituency. I am coming with full force. I urge everyone to come out in their numbers and vote tomorrow, and I promise not to let them down,” she added.
