The Kwahu Abene Council has formally petitioned the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) to investigate the destooled Kwahuhene, Eugene Asante Boadi, who served under the stool name Daasebre Akuamoah Agyepong II. The petition cites allegations of conflict of interest, abuse of office, and administrative injustice during his tenure as Board Chairman of the Agricultural Development Bank (ADB).
Signed by Nana Simpeh Owiredu III, Krontihene of Kwahu Abene, the petition was submitted under Article 218 of the 1992 Constitution and Section 7 of Act 456, requesting a full-scale probe into the claims.
The Council’s action references an earlier petition filed to former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on September 12, 2024, by Ghanaian businessman Collins Dankwah Aboagye, Director of PRABHAT Trading Limited. In that petition, Mr. Aboagye alleged that he was compelled to pay GHS 2 million into an ADB account following the approval of a GHS 12 million loan facility for his company, after allegedly paying an initial GHS 50,000 as a bribe. He claimed that he was threatened and coerced to make the payment through instructions allegedly issued by the then Tema Branch Manager of ADB.
The Kwahu Abene Council is urging CHRAJ to determine whether Mr. Boadi’s alleged actions contravened the Code of Conduct for Public Officers and other relevant laws. It has also requested that the Commission publish its findings and, if warranted, refer the matter to the Attorney-General and the Office of the Special Prosecutor for possible criminal investigations into alleged extortion and corruption.
Emphasising accountability, the Council stressed that no individual is above the law, stating that the petition is driven by a commitment to integrity, transparency, and the rule of law.
The petition has been formally submitted, and the Council expects CHRAJ to exercise its constitutional mandate thoroughly.

ABENE COUNCIL PETITIONS CHRAJ OVER ALLEGED ADB CONFLICT OF INTEREST
The Kwahu Abene Council, led by Nana Simpeh Owiredu III, Krontihene of Kwahu Abene, has formally petitioned the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) to investigate the conduct of the destooled Kwahuhene, Mr. Eugene Asante Boadi, formerly known as Daasebre Akuamoah Agyepong II.
The petition, filed pursuant to Article 218 of the 1992 Constitution and Section 7 of the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice Act, 1993 (Act 456), alleges conflict of interest, abuse of office, and administrative injustice in relation to Mr. Eugene Asante Boadi’s tenure as Board Chairman of the Agricultural Development Bank (ADB).
It may be recalled that on or about September 12, 2024, one Mr. Collins Dankwah Aboagye, a Ghanaian businessman and Director of PRABHAT Trading Limited, petitioned the then President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, to intervene in the retrieval of an amount of Two Million Ghana Cedis (GHS 2,000,000.00) allegedly extorted from him by the then Board Chairman of ADB. This followed the approval of a Twelve Million Ghana Cedis (GHS 12,000,000.00) loan facility granted to his company, during which he allegedly paid an initial bribe of Fifty Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHS 50,000.00).
According to the petition submitted to the former President, Mr. Collins Dankwah Aboagye narrated that he was threatened and compelled to pay the GHS 2 million into an ADB account upon the instructions of the then Tema Branch Manager of the bank.
The Kwahu Abene Council is therefore requesting CHRAJ to conduct a comprehensive administrative inquiry into the allegations that Mr. Eugene Asante Boadi demanded and received monies from Mr. Collins Dankwah Aboagye, a customer of ADB, and to determine whether such conduct constitutes a breach of the Code of Conduct for Public Officers and other applicable laws.
The petition further calls on CHRAJ to publish its findings and, where necessary, refer the matter to the Office of the Attorney-General and/or the Office of the Special Prosecutor for further investigations into possible criminal offences, including corruption and extortion.
The Kwahu Abene Council reiterates its unwavering commitment to integrity, accountability, and the rule of law, and emphasizes that no individual, regardless of status or position, is above the law. The Council therefore urges CHRAJ to exercise its constitutional mandate in upholding ethical standards in public service.
