A man has allegedly shot his wife before turning the gun on himself at Tosen, a community near Adum-Boso in the Asuogyaman District of the Eastern Region.

The incident, which occurred on Saturday, has left residents in shock as police investigate the circumstances surrounding the deaths.

An eyewitness, an Okada rider identified as Emmanuel, said he heard two gunshots while riding through the area but initially assumed they were linked to a ceremony taking place in the community.

He said he became aware of the seriousness of the situation moments later when two children reportedly ran out of a house screaming for help and alleging that their father had shot their mother.

Emmanuel said he immediately proceeded to the police station to report what had happened.

The motive behind the alleged shooting remains unknown, with residents struggling to understand the circumstances that led to the incident.

Police officers subsequently visited the scene and conveyed the bodies to the mortuary for preservation and autopsy.

Investigations have since commenced to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
