The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has attributed a power outage affecting parts of Aplaku in the Greater Accra Region to a broken high-tension (HT) pole.

In a notice issued on Sunday, October 11, 2026, ECG’s Accra West Region said the fault had disrupted electricity supply to several communities and facilities.

The affected areas include Old Aplaku township, Aplaku Israel, the Aplaku School for the Deaf, Aplaku Clinic and surrounding communities.

The power distributor said its engineers were working to resolve the fault and restore electricity supply to affected customers.

ECG apologised for the inconvenience caused by the outage and assured residents that efforts were underway to address the problem.
