New Patriotic Party (NPP) Director of Communications Dennis Miracles Aboagye has expressed confidence in the ability of the party’s newly elected First Vice Chairman, Kojo Bamba, to strengthen grassroots mobilisation and enhance the party’s ballot protection ahead of the 2028 general elections.

According to him, Mr Bamba brings a unique combination of influence, innovation, and forward-thinking leadership that could complement the strengths of the NPP’s new national executive team.

Speaking on Accra-based Citi FM, Mr Aboagye said the election of Kojo Bamba reflected the importance of diversity in the party’s leadership, particularly in reaching different sections of its support base.

He said Mr Bamba’s influence among young people and his connection with the grassroots would be valuable to the party as it prepares for the 2028 elections.

“He is one of the people that we know would be able to provide a certain level of influence on the grassroots. That is Kojo Bamba for you, and that is the level of innovation that he brings to the table that people have not paid their mind to,” he said.

Mr Aboagye said he was particularly encouraged by Mr Bamba’s potential to mobilise supporters and ensure that the party’s votes are effectively protected during the next general election.

“I am excited about his election because I can tell you one thing for a fact. With Kojo Bamba, the votes of the NPP will be protected. The ballots of the NPP will be protected.”

He explained that ballot protection was a key area highlighted during Kojo Bamba’s campaign and would form an important part of his responsibilities as a member of the party’s new national leadership.

Mr Aboagye noted that the NPP’s experience in the 2024 general election had underscored the need for stronger mechanisms to safeguard its votes throughout the electoral process.

He said the party had learnt important lessons from the 2024 polls and would work to avoid what he described as mistakes that affected its performance.

The NPP Communications Director expressed optimism that the new leadership, with the varied strengths of its members, would position the party to improve its grassroots organisation and electoral preparedness ahead of 2028.
