Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) General Secretary John Boadu has emerged as the leading candidate in the party’s national chairmanship contest, according to the latest survey by Global InfoAnalytics.
The poll, released on September 30, puts Mr Boadu at 48%, giving him a 10-percentage-point lead over former Energy Minister Boakye Agyarko, who polled 38%.
Former NPP National Chairman Paul Afoko follows with 12%, while former First Vice Chairman Sammy Crabbe records 2%, the survey indicates.
The findings are based on the research firm’s Committed Delegates Model, which measures support among delegates considered committed to the party’s upcoming national executive elections.
The latest figures differ from those published in Global InfoAnalytics’ September 2 survey, which placed Mr Boadu at 23.3% and Mr Agyarko at 17.7%. At the time, 41.3% of respondents were undecided.
The September 30 survey also provides net favourability ratings for the four aspirants. Mr Boadu recorded +64, followed by Mr Agyarko at +58, Mr Afoko at +45 and Mr Crabbe at +39.
According to Global InfoAnalytics, the survey used random probability sampling across Ghana’s 16 regions, drawing from the 2026 NPP constituencies register.
The research was conducted through Computer-Assisted Telephone Interviews (CATI), with the firm reporting a 98% confidence level and a margin of error of plus or minus 1.34 percentage points.
The poll comes ahead of the NPP’s national executive elections scheduled for October 3, 2026.
