The Ghana Education Service (GES) has transferred funds to Senior High Schools (SHSs) and Senior High Technical Schools to cover perishables supplied between March 1 and September 4, 2026, as well as part payment for recurring items for first-year students for the 2025/2026 academic year.
In a letter dated September 23, 2026, the GES directed all Regional Directors to inform heads of SHSs and Senior High Technical Schools about the payments.
According to the GES, the funds have been transferred into the various accounts of the schools.
The Service has also instructed heads of the schools to submit official receipts for the funds received to the Director-General through their respective Regional Accountants.
The letter, signed by GES Director-General Prof. Ernest Kofi Davis, said the payments formed part of efforts to support the schools in meeting their financial obligations.
The GES urged all Regional Directors and heads of schools to cooperate with the process and ensure that the necessary documentation for the funds received is submitted.
