A two-year-old girl has died after being trapped inside a burning house at Cantonments in Accra.
The fire broke out on Sunday, September 20, at a residence near Susanna Lodge while the child was inside the building.
According to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), the girl could not escape the blaze and was found dead at the scene.
Assistant Divisional Officer of the GNFS, Alex King Nartey, confirmed the incident in a Facebook post.
The cause of the fire has not yet been established.
The child’s remains have since been handed over to the Cantonments Police for the necessary procedures.
