Oti Regional Minister, John Kwadwo Gyapong, has commended Dr Cecelia Adu Gyamfi, a medical doctor, for accepting a posting to work at the newly established Evangelical Church of Ghana Hospital at Dambai.
The Minister’s commendation followed remarks by the Medical Superintendent of the Kpandai Evangelical Church of Ghana Hospital, Dr Sonlaar Joseph, during the commissioning of the new facility.
Dr Sonlaar Joseph praised Dr Adu Gyamfi for her willingness to serve in Dambai despite the challenges associated with working in a developing area.
He noted that she accepted the opportunity without raising concerns about the distance from major cities such as Accra and Kumasi, accommodation challenges and other amenities often available to health professionals in urban areas.
According to him, her decision demonstrates a strong commitment to the healthcare profession and a willingness to serve communities where medical professionals are urgently needed.
Responding to the remarks, Mr Gyapong praised Dr Adu Gyamfi for accepting the posting and pledged the full support of the Oti Regional Coordinating Council as she begins her work at the facility.
He stressed that the willingness of health professionals to accept postings to underserved communities is essential to improving healthcare delivery across the Oti Region.
MP commends ECG for establishing hospital
Meanwhile, the Member of Parliament for Krachi East, Nelson Kofi Djabab, has also commended the Evangelical Church of Ghana for establishing the hospital in Dambai.
Speaking in an interview with Adom News Correspondent, Odehyeba Owusu Job, the MP said the facility would significantly improve access to healthcare for residents of Dambai and surrounding communities.
He pledged his support, as well as that of relevant stakeholders in the constituency, to help the hospital secure the assistance required to operate effectively.
The establishment of the facility is expected to strengthen healthcare delivery in Dambai and reduce the difficulties residents face in accessing essential medical services, particularly those requiring immediate attention.
