Ghana Premier League side Hearts of Oak have appointed an Interim Management Committee (IMC) following the resignation of managing director Julius Ben Emunah, just one game into the 2026-27 season.
The club announced the decision on Friday, saying the five-member committee will oversee its affairs until a new management team is appointed.
Ben Emunah had only been in the role since 2 February 2026, when he succeeded Dr Delali Anku-Adiamah as managing director.
He was brought in to strengthen Hearts of Oak’s administration, commercial operations and sporting structure, but his tenure ended shortly after the start of the new league campaign.
In a statement signed by executive chairman Togbe Afede XIV, the club said the interim body had been established to ensure continuity during the transition.
Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe has been named chairman of the committee, with Samuel Wilfred Yaw Inkoom overseeing finance and Akwasi Agyemang taking charge of operations.
Former legislator Vincent Sowah Odotei has been assigned administrative duties, while National Chapters Committee chairman Alhaji Yusif Abdullai will lead mobilisation efforts.
“The Board of Directors wishes to assure all stakeholders that it is taking all steps necessary to ensure that the club continues its pursuit of pre-eminence not just in the country but continentally,” the statement said.
The club also called on supporters and stakeholders to back the committee as it takes charge of day-to-day operations.
The leadership change comes as Hearts of Oak look to build on a strong start to their league campaign after opening the season with a 4-0 victory over Berekum Chelsea.
Meanwhile, Hearts of Oak will be on the road to play against Bibiani Gold Stars in the Matchday 2 game at the DUN’s Park.
