The family of Ghanaian visual artist and Guinness World Record holder Sharon Dede Padi, popularly known as Yaa Padiki, has announced September 26, 2026, as the date for her final funeral rites.
Sharon Dede Padi died on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at the age of 50. She was the Guinness World Record holder for the Largest Leaf Print Painting, a feat that brought international attention to her work and Ghana’s visual arts sector.
According to the funeral arrangements released by the family, the rites will be held at the Forecourt of the State House in Osu on Saturday, September 26.
A pre-burial service is scheduled for 7:30 a.m., followed by the burial service at 9:00 a.m. Interment will be private, while the final funeral rites and reception will take place at the State House forecourt after the burial service.
The family will hold a memorial service on Sunday, September 27, at the Calvary Methodist Church in Adabraka at 10:00 a.m.
She is survived by her three children, Ama Kwatchey, a student of the University of Ghana, Legon; Bradley Kofi Antwi, a student of Achimota School; and Marcia Darkoa Antwi, a pupil of Garrison Primary School.
