Ghanaian musician King Promise has confirmed that he has recorded the official song for Chelsea Football Club for the upcoming season as part of his partnership with the English Premier League side.
The singer made the revelation while speaking about his relationship with the club, explaining that the song, titled “Can’t Tame Us”, is one of several activations being undertaken through his partnership with Chelsea.
King Promise, who is a lifelong Chelsea fan, said he had deliberately kept the collaboration under wraps until now, describing the project as a major achievement for both himself and Ghana.
“Obviously, I’m a Chelsea fan. I do have a partnership with Chelsea Football Club and this is one of the few activations that we’re doing together. I haven’t said it anywhere, but I’ve done the official song for Chelsea Football Club for this season,” he said.
According to the musician, the song is set to be launched as part of a broader campaign around Chelsea’s new season.
He revealed that the project will include a documentary being filmed in Ghana, as well as a music video for the song.
“We’re about to launch the song. So the new season for Chelsea, I’ve done the song, we’re doing a documentary, we’re shooting in Ghana, doing the video and then we’re just doing a tournament just to cap it all off,” he explained.
He described the development as “a very big deal” and a major win for Ghana, particularly as a Ghanaian artiste gets the opportunity to create music for a globally recognised football brand.
