The Musama Disco Christo Church (MDCC) has clarified that an incident involving a Queen Mother who fell from a palanquin during a public procession at the Gomoa Tarkwa Festival was not connected to any event organised by the church.

A video of the incident has been circulating widely on social media, showing the woman dancing on a palanquin before it suddenly tumbled, causing her to fall heavily to the ground.

The footage sparked various reports and online commentary, with some publications incorrectly linking the incident to an activity of the Musama Disco Christo Church.

However, in a statement dated August 10, 2026, the church said the procession was not associated with any of its activities.

The MDCC has urged media houses, bloggers and social media users to provide the correct context when publishing or sharing the video to avoid spreading inaccurate information.
