The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Obuasi East, William Kofi Adzowu, has donated relief items to students of Christ the King Senior High School (CKC SHS) whose belongings were destroyed in a fire outbreak.

The items, presented at the school’s boys’ dormitory, included bags, mattresses, school uniforms, trunks, chop boxes and assorted provisions to help the affected students replace some of their essential belongings.

The fire, which occurred on July 22, 2026, affected students staying in the dormitory, leaving some of them without basic personal items.

Speaking to Adom News correspondent Isaac K. Normanyo, Mr Adzowu said the municipality moved quickly to provide immediate assistance to the affected students.

He said the intervention was aimed at helping the students regain some level of comfort and stability as they continued their education.

The MCE also disclosed that rehabilitation works on the affected section of the dormitory are progressing steadily.

Some of the students who were directly affected by the fire recounted the difficulty they faced after losing their belongings in the incident.

They expressed appreciation to the MCE for the intervention, saying the relief items had helped ease the burden on them and provided much-needed support as they recover from the incident.
