The President of the Institution of Engineering and Technology, Ghana (IET-GH), Engr. Wonder Davor, has been honoured by the Faculty of Built and Natural Environment of Ho Technical University for his outstanding contribution to engineering education, professional excellence, and leadership in Ghana.
The Citation of Honour was presented during the Faculty Week celebration held on 20th July 2026 under the theme “Building Sustainable Communities Through Innovation, Excellence and Collaboration.”
The award recognised Engr. Davor’s unwavering commitment to professionalism and his significant role in advancing the engineering profession in the country.
Receiving the honour, Engr. Davor reaffirmed IET-GH’s commitment to supporting engineering students and young professionals to build successful careers through continuous learning and professional development.
In his keynote address, he challenged students to complement their academic qualifications with practical skills, industry exposure, and continuous professional development to remain competitive in the job market.
He also encouraged them to join the IET-GH Student Chapter to benefit from free Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programmes, mentorship opportunities and professional networking.
The Vice-Chancellor of Ho Technical University, Prof. Ben Q. Honyenuga, commended IET-GH for its continued support for engineering education and stressed the importance of collaboration between academia, industry and professional bodies in building sustainable communities.
The First Vice President of IET-GH, Engr. Prof. Humphrey Danso, who also serves as Chairman of the Civil Engineering Division, educated participants on the Institution’s membership structure and encouraged students and young professionals to become members to advance their careers.
The ceremony brought together officials from the Ghana National Fire Service, the Environmental Protection Agency, the National Health Insurance Scheme, faculty members, students and other distinguished guests.
The event also featured a ceremonial guard of honour and exhibitions of innovative engineering models and projects developed by students, highlighting the faculty’s commitment to practical learning and innovation.
